FAQ - How much coffee should I put in my basket?
If you've ever stood in front of your espresso machine wondering just how much coffee to use, you're not alone. The answer depends on the basket you're using.
Single Basket: 9–12g
The single basket is all about tradition. Designed for around 9 to 12 grams of coffee, it gives you that classic Italian espresso — strong, concentrated, and rich in flavor.
Double Basket:15–18g
This is the most commonly used basket. It holds 15 to 18 grams and is great for brewing two espressos at once — perfect for sharing, or keeping both for yourself. If you're aiming for a 14-gram classic double shot, this basket works well too.
Triple Basket: <19g
A rising star in the coffee world, the triple basket is inspired by the Australian standard. It fits 19 to 22 grams of coffee, ideal for those who prefer a bolder, more caffeinated espresso.

Roast Matters: The ideal dose also depends on the roast you’re using. Classic Italian-style dark roasts are typically used in smaller doses and shorter ratios, while lighter, specialty roasts often shine with higher doses and longer extractions.
Play with Ratios: Flavor is always king. Try a different coffee to water ratio and see what tastes best to you. Small adjustments can make a big difference, so don’t hesitate to experiment and dial in your perfect shot.
